Combat Hard Krav Maga

Krav Maga means Contact Combat in Hebrew. It was originally developed in the late 1940’s by Imi Sde-or (Lichtenfeld), Chief Instructor for hand-to-hand combat and combat fitness training for the Isreali Defense Forces, and grew out of an immediate need for the newly independent State of Israel to defend its borders against neighboring Arab states.  The system had to be simple and quick to learn, easy to retain, and be highly effective.  It has been developed extensively over the years; it is a proven system of close quarter self defense. Krav Maga is the official close quarter combat of Israel’s Armed Forces and many S.W.A.T. Law Enforcement and Military units all over the world.

The system has been adapted appropriately for use in everyday life as a self defense system for civilians, as well. Krav Maga is growing in popularity worldwide, as the system retains its original purpose for being easy to learn, practical and extremely effective; it is excellent for women, men and teenagers of any age or size. Krav Maga is also a great way to get and keep in shape!

We teach students how to defend themselves against:

* Kicks, Punches

* Chokes & Grabs

* Sticks & Bats

* Hand Guns

* Edged Weapons

* Multiple attackers

* Groundfighting

We have developed our system by blending curricula from several Krav Maga governing bodies, training techniques and methodology of the British Combat Association, and whatever else we deem practical and appropriate for our students to prepare them for close combat situations.

Though we teach techniques, the system focuses heavily on principles.  We must all be able to fight with ferocious resolve and without hesitation when all attempts at avoiding physical confrontation have failed.  There are no frills.  Techniques are based on primal/instinctual reactions that do not rely on strength or size, and we teach you to exploit the weaknesses of the attacker to gain the upper hand rapidly so the confrontation can be resolved quickly and effectively. Students also develop proficiency with ordinary weapons and gain an understanding of the improvised weapon mindset.

Combat Hard Krav Maga is not just about fighting and fitness; it’s about situational awareness and becoming a hard target.  Individuals learn to develop a mindset that allows them to recognize a problem before it escalates, and quickly find the most desirable solutions to conflict and acts of aggression.  One must also understand what to do after the event has happened such as escaping, reporting the incident to the appropriate authorities, checking oneself for injuries and dealing with the stress associated with lethal encounters.
